I know what you mean about 'fear of being there'. My mum used to invoke the spectre of either her or me being 'sent' to Central Hospital, Hatton ... the implication was that many people never came back (as, indeed, they didn't).

Great to feel that "there are" people that care/cared for the less fortunate, where mental conditions were less understood!
