The Hello You Sunday Supplement, Issue 32
Great Googa Mooga!* It's this week's hot list of links and recommendations!
Hello, you. How’re you doing?
I hope your Sunday is unfurling nicely. If you’re a first-time reader or new subscriber, you’re especially welcome. Thank you for being a member of the Hello You family!
Hello (you) to the lovely people I met last night at Tea & Biscuits’ Easter Eggstravaganza at The Hive in Shrewsbury, including Andy from Left For Dead who I’ve known for ages but didn’t recognise owing to his new haircut!
Amaranta and Cruella of Tea & Biscuits very kindly invited me along to talk about Hello You the Shropshire podcast, radio and the media, and my thoughts on a bunch of other things. If you’re part of a group, organisation, regular meeting, club or similar and you’d like me to come along for a chat in the same way, hit the button below and let’s get something in the diary?
‘How are you feeling … in yerself?’
For a long time, that was how my dad would broach the topic of my mental health. Perfectly pitched, given that my answers could be wildly variable. Anyway, I’m telling you this because I’ve stashed a large number of fascinating, informative and thought-provoking articles about mental health to share with you, and if you’ve been feeling like I’ve been feeling lately, for whatever reason - full moon, Mercury in retrograde, the sheer bloody state of the world and everything in it - you might find them helpful.
Hence, this issue of the Hello You Sunday Supplement is a Mental Health Special!
Please, feel free to share any of the pieces herein with someone you think could benefit from them. Better yet, share the whole newsletter with this one button?
First, though, as always …

Capybara capers at Hoo Zoo
Cinnamon the capybara sparked worldwide interest last autumn when she did a runner from her enclosure at Hoo Zoo and Dinosaur World in Shropshire.
The story of her little holiday has been turned into a delightful picture book by Shrewsbury author Tracey J Morgan and much-loved illustrator Hercule Van Wolfwinkle, creator of the famous Rubbish Pet Portraits.
Tracey and Hercule took part in a reading of the book and a Q&A with fans at Hoo Zoo on Sunday, with the zoo’s co-owner Will Dorrell. You can hear how the book came to be, and more about the story of Hoo Zoo, in this episode of Hello You the Shropshire podcast!
