What does early morning sound like, where you are? Is it traffic and chatter? Footsteps and dogs barking? Wind, sea, wildlife?
It’s been a while since I gave you a full-fat soundscape, so to speak, and I hope this will make up for it.
Recorded near the churchyard in Hawarden, Flintshire, it brings you birdsong, church bells, a delivery van, and the start of the day’s passing traffic.
For the best listening experience, use headphones or earbuds? You should be able to place what’s happening where within the stereo picture.
If you enjoy this, why not subscribe to Hello You for more soundscapes. musings and conversations encompassing the simple pleasure as well as the complexities of life.
Oh, and ‘like’ or rate the podcast, and share it with your friends? Just hit the relevant buttons here, or at the top or bottom of this email.
Where else should I sit to record a soundscape? This is an unusual venture outside Shropshire, but where in the county could I sit and listen, and share the sounds with you? It might be somewhere well-known and busy, or somewhere just you know and like to visit.
Similarly, where could I sit on a bench to record random conversations with whoever sits there with me? I’ve not done that for a long time either, and I really want to get more ‘bench’ sessions in before it gets too wintery.
I’d be grateful if you could let me have your suggestions for bench or soundscape locations, as well as events I could visit for Hello You, and especially people with stories to tell, experiences to unpack and thoughts to share. Maybe that’s you!
Leave a comment, or send me a message. I’d love to hear from you anyway. It helps me feel like I’m doing something vaguely worthwhile.
The Hello You Sunday Supplement will be dropping into inboxes around the world on Sunday morning (GMT!). It’s a newsletter packed with links to articles that I think you’ll find interesting, stimulating, uplifting or just downright hilarious. Subscribe to make sure you get it!
Thanks for being there. Take care of yourself, and take care of the people around you. I hope that they’re taking good care of you, too.
