I too don't listen to podcasts, but gosh it's lovely to hear you, don't worry about getting others to speak, please just keep talking, I, along with others I'm sure, would like to listen.

Jim, sorry forgot to say re: spekaing to family about mental helath and health issues, it depends. My wife Em and I used to struggle to get her side of the family to understand her depression and mental illness as they never suffered it. Sadly last year they lost a daughter (our Nice Becca Steer) closely after losing my mum-in-law and now have been suffering poor mental health ever since and I can cannot imagine the pain they are still in. So they undeerstand but they are suffering infinitely more, but we are trying to support them from hunderds of miles way. My family used to struggle to get it until my mum suffered from psychotic depression in her eighties and one sister (of 2) had to support mum and then when mum passed away it hit my brother so hard, he had to take time off work. But mum's death and sorting her estate allowed me to reconcile with my older sister, who had cut herself off from the whole family for years. As you can imagine my feeling is that although I wanted them to understand mental health, what they have all suffered is horrible. the only crumb of positive from these situations is that they have brought us all closer together.

On a more light-hearted note my brother and one sister that are in regular contact have had a chat about arthritis and how we are now the "Nobbly Newsons" (Osteoarthritis - which is common, causes bumps/nodules on finger joints)

take care

Healey

So sorry to hear about all you and your family have been through, but I'm glad it's brought you closer together. I hope things improve for you all next year.

Another great pod Jim. When talking to loved ones about health matters I start with ‘do you have the capacity to talk about something a bit heavy right now?’ If they don’t I’ll ask if they can let me know a better time. That way I always feel as though I can be safely heard but also that I’m not a burden if they’re having a difficult day themselves x

Best comedy number plate I ever saw was in the late 80's SPL1F!

I wonder how many times he got pulled over!!🤔

Dear Jim,

Sorry only just got to this now and have listened and love it! Your thought processes mimic mine, I am the king of thought tangents.

Not got myself sorted re: support but am trying to work less and do more relaxing stuff. Looking forward to Podcasts 3-9...Glad you are ok. Healey
